For all those who like to pick up momentum: The Loser Resort is the ideal base camp for the extensive trail network in Ausseerland. From relaxing mountain and lake laps to intense flow-country trails: the centre of cycling in the Salzkammergut offers the right tour for everyone.
The "Augst Trail" opening, the first single trail in Altaussee happened in May 2023. The new MTB trail is also the first specially built single trail in the Salzkammergut. The municipality of Altaussee, the Altaussee Tourist Association, the TVB Ausseerland-Salzkammergut and the Loser Bergbahnen have implemented the project, which is partly funded by the Leader programme.
The trail was built last year and tested by experienced bikers, which at the same time strengthened the subsoil.
The almost three-kilometre-long, varied & exciting track invites you to get to know the rugged nature of the Loser! The tour starts at the car park of the Loser ski arena and leads for approx. 5 km along the Loser Panoramastraße to the entry point. Follow the marked trail downhill for just under three kilometres over bridges and narrow hairpin bends to the subway of the Loser Panoramastraße. The last part back you cycle back to the starting point via the asphalted panorama road.
Difficulty level is S2 - medium, the trail is suitable for mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes.
